I am probably the only person on here who knew Richard, but I believe all would have liked him.?ÿ Richard was not a surveyor but a draftsman.?ÿ He drafted literally hundreds of boundary and subdivision plats for many surveying companies here in Cobb County during the 1970s and 1980s, before the proliferation of CAD.?ÿ We would draw the lines and curves and write in the calls and notes.?ÿ Richard would take our paper drawings and ink them on mylar.?ÿ No matter how much I practiced I couldn't come close to the quality of his linework and lettering.?ÿ And to top it off he was left handed!!

Richard was a technician, an artist, and a just plain good man.?ÿ RIP Richard Grimsley, I don't know if we'll ever see the like of your craftsmanship again.

Andy
