Just read that William Christopher passed away yesterday at the age of 84. For those of us that can remember that long ago Christopher played Father Mulcahy on the tv version of MASH. Colonel Potter (Harry Morgan) was fond of calling him "Padre" in the script. RIP Padre.

Did not realize he was cast as a fellow Marine of Gomer Pyle, USMC named Lester Hummel. Studied Greek literature and competed in fencing.

But of course he does, he was also instrumental in the development of the "wheel". 😉

In reruns for Spring in December Bride. We didn't get a TV until 1958. Saw her in Laramie.

Zasu was on The Gale Storm Show also known as Oh Susanna.

I paid ten cents every Saturday afternoon to see that movie (only a year after it came out) for months. The Saturday Matinee at the "Pearl" Theatre in Buena Vista, CO also usually included two short Lone Ranger re-runs (maybe a Cisco Kid too) and a slew of Woody Woodpecker cartoons. I can still feel the sticky floor there...

Yes sir. I'm sure Conrad lost the part to Arness when the tv series came out due to physical attributes...;)

Yup!

Along with the Lone Ranger, Green Hornet, and others that I only vaguely remember (but then I only vaguely last week).

My mother would stop what she was doing to listen to Perry Como sing on the radio. Spent many hours "watching" the radio before a TV set arrived at our house.
