I have thought about starting up a sort of social network, using this forum as a basis, but without merging it into other disciplines. What I mean is, this surveyor's forum would always be this surveyor's forum, but it could feed into the internal social machine without having to "sell out" to Facebook. Thank you for your detailed responses, because it clarifies my understanding of what you are suggesting. And I like it. I previously thought you meant to have several different websites for each discipline, and quite honestly, that would likely be much more work.

Now if they were all somehow integrated into to this website without necessarily diluting this forum, then I'd be in favor of that. This forum functions quite well the way it is, so I want to make sure that it can continue to function as-is for those who don't want to use the other stuff, but also allowing those who are interested to further delve into the other areas.

@nate-the-surveyor+Interesting Nate but not truly neccessary. I know Wendell can not be watching us 24/7 and from time to time I see something that needs attention. I just report it to Wendell and usually by the next time I am on it has been attended to. I am rather sure others do the same, just a part of being a good board citizen.

I genuinely think it has potential to become fully economically sustaining, and that it's needed. (The need is there)

Let's see, I've got a floor that needs to be replaced, blinds hung, landscaping...

At the rate above it will take you about a week to get here, depending on how far ahead of the ferry leaving Bellingham that you get there and if they are even running (wouldn't be surprised if the big one is still in dry dock).

Thank you for all the great feedback and suggestions. I hope you all are enjoying the long holiday weekend. Between the gym being closed and all this amazing food and goodies, I'm gonna have to go back on a diet for awhile after all this.
