This guy is still going at 84.?ÿ How many knew he was a tremendous high jumper who was invited to the Olympic Trials?

Carol Kaye and Steve Cropper.

Steve Cropper was the large ominous band guitarist in the Blues Brothers movie.?ÿ The songs he has written or co-written are all monumental hits.

?ÿCarol's never been in a movie but I guaran-dam-tee you've heard her work.?ÿ One that comes to mind is the bass lead-in for the Beach Boys Good Vibrations.?ÿ?ÿ

Speaking of Jerry Jeff, here's a clip of Ray Wylie Hubbard telling Jerry Jeff the origin of "Up Against The Wall Red Neck Mother."

And Jerry Jeff's cover of it:

@geoff-ashworth

Years ago I worked with a geologist who was an undergrad student at Kent State at that time. We discussed that incident numerous times.

@dave-karoly

That is in Abita Springs Louisiana, been there, nice place. Hot and humid as all get out in the summer.

I find hard to believe that a Californian such as yourself you be able to understand southern speech and slang much less Louisiana accents. There might be some hope for you afterall.
