Stay safe. Pressure is about 947, lowest since '38 hurricane. Not good.

I hope y’all have prepared properly. It’s not the storm itself but the aftermath that is pure living hell, especially without electricity and water. If you haven’t lived through something like this before and you are not “prepared” you are in for one miserable surprise.

I wish all the Beerleggers in the NE the best.

Appreciate your concern. We're all set at my house. Been through it before.

The rain has begun in the last hour and the wind is picking up and very gusty. Leaves everywhere and a lot more to go.
I amon the 3rd floor of a condo on the side of a slope overlooking the NJ Meadowlands and MetLife Stadium so flooding will not be an issue for my residence. The roads will be another story though. Losing power will be an issue but I did not lose power last year during Irene just lost cable. But I stored water and I have adequate food and cat food. The cats are restless due to the wind I believe.
The barrier islands will suffer from this storm I am sure but how much remains to be seen.
Predictions are for the surge around midnight Monday into Tuesady. I guess I will be home for a while.

No need to track the storm. Just watch where this guy is going.

Stay safe all in the path of this thing.

“The cats are restless due to the wind I believe.”

In the past when hurricanes approached “Wonderland” (FL) my cats got restless and eventually hid in a place not in their usual haunting areas. The Vet told me it’s because of the rapid barometric change accompanying the storm. I believe her because I believe animals can sense things we cannot. A good way to tell if a storm approaching, at least in FL, is to watch the birds, they all leave before the NHC even tells them to!

For what’s it’s worth, have a good week! :'(

the NE has plenty of experience with losing power with the ice storms and all. It's the roads washing out that do all the damage and cost big bucks to repair. Course, I mite be thinking different if I didn't live 1000 feet above the ocean.

it's beginning to look ugly here. nothing but old oaks looming over the power lines out back. raining hammers and nails.

Hey Moe - Hijack

So, how did the second day go?

For me, after the storm drain exam, principles was a breeze.

Just big winds here so far, and Perry's right, we're kind of use to power outtages and flooded roads.

Hey Moe - Hijack

water was easy, only one small hitch there. state test seemed ok. the national aka ncees was difficult. many similar answer possibilities. eight weeks or thereabouts for results

Getting Breezy up here. I just took a trip to a couple of viewing spots. Nauset Beach is Closed, but the view from Beach Road was wild! That is one active ocean. A look from Fort Hill in Eastham was equally impressive. All of Nauset Marsh was under water and a new inlet may be forming south of the current inlet.

One street light was blown of it's pole and hanging by it's wires. A few down branches and some ominous trees looking like they're ready to come down...

High Tide was about an hour ago. I found three flooded roads and several flooded businesses.
