I walk my dog through the National Park nearby on a regular basis. Since dogs must be on a leash I keep her on a retractable leash (kinda like a big Gammon reel). When she starts running and gets close to the end I always tell her "Careful" so she'll know to slow down. Today I was distracted and caught myself calling "Chain" as she got to the end. It's been years since I rear chained but I guess it never goes away.

I count my steps every were I go . Its real annoying but cant help it.

😀 :good:
That's funny.
Don
Did she yank you back and swear at you for calling "Chain!" too late?
😉
I was at the local equipment dealer's showroom the other day. I saw they had a shiny set of chaining pins hanging on the wall. Is anyone still using those????? I guess I should ask if anyone under 50 even knows what they are???
For what it's worth, we have sold 18 sets this calendar year. One customer bought 3 sets. One bought 2 and the rest were single set purchases.
We don't have any in the showroom...but we do have them in inventory....:-O

Dang, I catch myself doing that, and I look at fences to see how the section lines are set out along the highway. I gotta stop doing that.
Anyone remember "Pull, Stick, Stuck, Move out"?
Many years ago was just getting off weeks of a lot levels and was on the rod and the gunner on the TS made the hand motion and I started to rock the rod. He got free beers off that for days.
I'm not under fifty; but I get to explain what these are to people under fifty:
I still use the pins every day. Mostly for sights though. I have some reflective tape that I can stick on and take off, so when I'm working in a clear, mowed area I use the pins instead of prism poles.I can carry all 11 "sights" with me and when I find a corner I'll put one in if I know where I'll be set up, and avoid walking back until the job's done. Just bought a new sheath from Hayes to carry them as my old one sprung a leak. Don't know how many of the sheaths they have left but it didn't sound like a lot.
Side note - my Nikon reflectorless will shoot to a 2" square piece of the tape at over a half mile. Makes a great permanent back sight in a tree or power pole for longer lasting jobs.

is that anythin kin to 'check, reach, pull' ???
:good:
I never even thought of that (chaining pins for back sights). Good idea
