Kansas City news reports a sinkhole has opened up in the northbound lanes of State Line Road, thus in KCMO, that is the size of six or seven washing machines.?ÿ A comment posted said:?ÿ Proof Americans can measure in anything except the metric system.
Can I dare say that it was likely a female reporter whose frame of reference reflects where she spends a lot of her time?

As i've commented before, this is funny but that may be the world's most inefficient car.
Six or seven washing machines gives us a volume, but nothing about the shape. Are those end to end, two or three wide, or stacked on top of each other?
@Bill93,?ÿ
You might try to turn off your inner surveyor, before replying to this thread.
(It won't work!)
Laughing here.

Here's the proof.
BTW, State Line Road is precisely that.?ÿ The west half is in Kansas and the east half is in Missouri.?ÿ The location is only a couple of miles from the home of one of my daughters.?ÿ Perhaps I can have her drive by to make an assessment as to the number of washing machines that could fit in the hole.?ÿ She spent plenty of time helping me survey, so I'm sure her estimate would be valid.
There's a good reason why washing machines are used as a unit of measure. Down this way, and I suspect it is the same up your way, it is illegal for washing machines and similar essential chattel to be repossessed or taken to cover loan payment default.
SINKHOLE?!
Lol, probably a busted water line or better yet busted force main....
btw: we measure sinkholes with volkswagen bugs so that means we is as smart as you. ?????ÿ

There are caverns beneath KC.?ÿ Let me introduce you to the international free trade zone in Subtropolis under KC.?ÿ With over 7.3 million square feet of leasable storage and a potential for another 6.7 million square feet, it is impressive.

While on summer vacation near SOBX NC, overheard a drunken conversation this year among some locals, ??You know those earthquakes on the news were not really earthquakes. ?ÿIt??s the government blowing up them underground sex trafficking tunnels.??ÿ
Yep and they pack the explosives in washing machines. It all makes sense now.

We can; we choose not to.?ÿ?ÿ

On a recent project here the speculated size of the boulders used in the base material is the size of a Volkswagen, but they never specified a model, I assume they were talking Beetles
