I don't think I've missed as many days in my whole career as I missed since catching covid around the 9th of this month. My oldest daughter (30) had a runny nose and cough. It put me and my 25 year old son down for about 12 days. During that time I ate three small meals. And passed two kidney stones. My loving wife caught it caring for me. For her, I called our doctor and she prescribed some antivirals. Joyce began feeling better after dose 3. Her down time was about 3.5 days as opposed to my 12. Its good to be back in the world of the living. Praise God!. Hope everyone else is well.?ÿ
You are not alone. Coworker gifted me last week. By Friday I was coughing and delirious. Here it is Tuesday and I??m still sick. I??m not sure if the two Pfizer??s and two subsequent boosters did any good, but I wouldn??t want this if I??d not vaxxed. Glad you are on the mend.
Hang in there. It takes a while. If you get the antiviral medication within 5 days of onset of symptoms it really does help.?ÿ
I have to admit that when I get sick I am a big wimp. You can beat me with a wet squirrel give me lashes with a peach limb. But if I get sick i am useless. God made women special. I have seen my wife take care of all of us and she was sick i don??t know how they do it. It amazes me. I have always thought of myself as a pretty tough guy. But being sick thats it. I am done.?ÿ
Our wonderful doc did everything right from the moment COVID started. Careful cleaning when that was in vogue, N-95 masks at all times, cancelled his vacations, he and his wife were vaccinated and boosted, and they still got it last week. It's scary when you do everything right and still get sick. Same with my son-in-law - he took every precaution and still got it.?ÿ
I??m still determined to avoid it. Gawd why can??t the idiots at the Doctors office follow simple instructions? Over your mouth AND nose, under your chin is useless and you look like an idiot. It doesn??t seem too much to ask for people in the Doctors office to wear a mask. Wife is recovering from major surgery and really doesn??t need to get it right now. Think of others for once especially in the Doctors office, a lot of people in there can??t resist it as well.
Both brothers, daughter (lives 2 hours away), 3 people at work but I??ve been working at home so no exposure.
Maybe I??ve been exposed and am genetically resistant to it (some are). Have 4 shots so that helps.
under your chin is useless and you look like an idiot.
Chin diaper. lol
Not jabbed and not boosted. Won't be. I would rather take my chances than be injected, especially considering the data that is coming out on injected health issues. I don't like most people in general, so it's easy to avoid them. Daughter got it for the first time about 2 weeks ago. Very mild flu-like symptoms and her husband didn't get it (both jabbed and boosted). Haven't worn a mask in at least a year. They are worthless, IMO.?ÿ
I too got it last week. Can work just fine now. But it really sucks that I can't smell or taste. Seems like all I'm eating is tofu and drinking water. Even beer and soda taste like seltzer water. My wife also got sick, but didn't loose taste or smell. We have all the shots.
Glad you are feeling better Stacy.
I have two guys out with it and I was in the truck from job to job with them...fingers crossed
My wife and I had managed to avoid it until recently.?ÿ She drove to L.A. to visit her brothers on the 13th, got a sore throat on the 15th but tested negative so kept socializing, by the 18th she was feeling really bad so moved to a hotel, finally tested positive on the 20th and started Paxlovid that evening.?ÿ She was totally wiped out, so on the 22nd (last Monday) I flew to L.A. and drove her home.?ÿ We wore masks in the car, kept the rear windows cracked and the AC blowing.
At home we're sleeping in separate rooms, eating separately, wearing masks when we have to be in the same room.?ÿ As of last night she was still in rough shape, I'm hoping we're going to see some improvement soon.?ÿ I sure don't want to get it, and feel fine so far.
We're both double-vaxxed and boosted.
One thing about this new variant going around is how incredibly contagious and sneaky it is. For two days after a close contact I felt just fine. On day three I started feeling a bit a cold coming on. For the next three days straight, though I was developing a cough, the Antigen Rapid Test consistently indicated negative. I was full blown sick for two days before I tested positive. Point being that people can be contagious for many days without symptoms before any test is going to confirm an infection. This variant goes around in full Predator mode.
@dave-karoly That doctor's office junk is REALLY annoying.?ÿ People are usually there because they already have a health matter, no need to expose them to something else.?ÿ And certainly no need to stand at the registration desk right behind someone else.
While I would much rather we didn't have a pandemic at all, I really enjoyed that 6 feet away in lines.
I just got it Monday. Wife's symptoms started Friday, she had gone to Nashville with friends and must have gotten it on the plane there.?ÿ
We both have 3 shots. Part of me thinks maybe I should have gotten the fourth but maybe no shots wouldn't have made a difference.?ÿ
Either way way I'm out for the week, in severe pain. I can still smell for some reason, cough is not that bad but I was up all night throwing up from lower back pain and a migraine.?ÿ
I rarely get sick but do get migraines and I have prescription meds for that. The pills didn't really help with this covid headache at all.?ÿ
I don't wish this on anyone. I do feel like masks help. I only got this from the wife from kissing her etc. I went all this time without getting it and we were required to wear masks in stores up until not long ago.?ÿ
