If you think 40 is old you have much to learn, grasshopper...
I've got boots in the closet older than that....
BTW - Charles Schulz, Snoopy's creator, worked on a survey crew in his college years. The "surveyor" is a common theme in his cartoons. Sometimes his attention to detail is impeccable. I've seen Snoopy with a field book and plumb bob. I'm sure the "out of level" instrument was an intentional thing.

I took up smoking a pipe for my 50th birthday, it gives me a prop to point at the neighborhood kids when I tell them to get off my lawn.
I'll trade ya 😛
The only catches: you will be older, I won't tell you by how much......
From experience (getting ready to turn 41)....you are officially now starting to get old and must now review your lifestyle if you want to maintain a youthful pace.
Making me feel old, you young whippersnapper! I have a daughter 18 months older than you. Could have had kids a few years earlier but I wasn't the dumbest hick in the hay pile.

I have been preparing. I have lost 30 pounds since the first of the year with just diet change. I now am looking at exercise. I enjoy walking in the field; I despise formal exercise, especially ab work.

When I was a kid, I spent the summer building a hiking trail for my parents (got paid $110).
They are in their late 60's and hike it every morning. It climbs 600' or so in elevation and the round trip is just under 2 miles.
They know that staying active is going to be the key to extending their abilities when they get older.
I have underware older than Spledeus!!

We just moved into a community where Bocce Ball is a big deal. I just watched my first game last week.
Thadd has been an old phart as long as I've known him, I'm 58 and I'm younger than he is! 🙂

He probably meant his Grandson just turned 40. 😉
No. I remember seeing some of his family pix a year or two back. He has a foxy young wife, like most surveyors do, but I don't believe there is a multiple-decade age gap between them.

I like that snoopy is smoking a pipe. With the transit so noticeably out of level it makes me wonder what is in that pipe.
I am also a Virgo! My birthday is on the 13th. But I have 5 years on ya...
We Virgos have to stick together.....or does that violate the whole image behind Virgo?
