I am looking for the perfect pens.
- Need Black, Red, and Blue. (All same make/model just different ink color)
- Pen body or top need to be same color as ink (so easily determinable in vest pocket).
- Retractable.
- A max point size of 0.7mm (0.5 would be even better).
What pens do you all like? I had a favorite, but now I can no longer buy them in red with a 0.7mm size.?ÿ
I love the zebra sarasa. It's a bit heavy, but fits my hand perfectly.?ÿ ?ÿI had to separately buy the red/black/blue bodies and corresponding ink, but well worth it.?ÿ I get lots of comments about them, so watch them closely!?ÿ?ÿ
I favor Parker pens. Nice without being crazy expensive. You can get barrels and inks in those colors if you are willing to shop the net. It seems like almost all pens are black ink these days.
I once had an overbearing boss that insisted that we sign all documents, including our timesheets every Monday morning, in black ink.?ÿ Since leaving that employment I avoid black inked pens like the plague. By statute I have to sign Records of Survey in black ink. If you see my signature in black on anything else it is either a copy or a forgery.?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ
@norman-oklahoma that is odd. Traditionally blue was preferred because a black signature was a photocopy. I don??t think it matters anymore due to color copiers being standard issue now.
Pilot G2
I don't know if they are still available in all those colors, but I recently bought a box of 12 in both black and blue.?ÿ Still had some red left over from a while back.

There were a lot of odd things about Overbearing Boss. Many of them seemed to have no purpose other than to be controlling.
Tombow has a large selection.
Uni-ball.
Another vote for the G2, and yes, they come in at least 16 different colors. (Useful for tracing out available surveys on a printed GIS map)
The G2 is a gel pen, so no leaking like the old pilot pens of past, and can roll around in the dirty truck forever and work just fine. Like all Gel pens, the ink runs out sooner, so buy extra.?ÿ
Also, like all gel pens, you can??t use it on Mylar or rite in rain paper. The 0.7 is the most common size, but you can get them from 0.4 to 1.0.
the artichoke I was married to would spout off about the amazing Rotring, but I really like the G2
or if I'm signing fancy stuff my MontBlanc...ahem...
?ÿ
lol ?????ÿ

Uni-ball.
Uni-ball is what I always used, but I cannot find them in red in bulk in .7mm or smaller anymore.

Thank you ALL!!! I'm going to try the Pilot G2.
Normans story reminds me of an old shop where they wanted you to write your hours in pencil and then sign in ink.
Funny how some can be a stickler for the rules and spirit of legal land surveying and then walk right over up to or over the line on financial and labor rules.
I like Pentel ENERGEL 0.5 Needle Tip, although the barrel breaks over time and in the general case I like Papermate and Zebra products as well.
My go-to is the Zebra F-301 BP retractable 0.7mm.?ÿ I stopped trying to get them in stores (why is the one thing I need in Walmart the only thing they're out of) and just order it online.?ÿ Metal and color coated exterior in red, blue, black, or green.
@ppm Are these the style you are searching for??ÿ These are the Uniball pens I like in the 0.5 size.?ÿ?ÿ
