That's a photo straight from a couple of sites I googled for that particular corner.  You couldn't pay me enough to try to do what that guy is doing.  One slip and you wouldn't be able to work for six months.

I've been there too, three times...but here is the SW corner of Missouri about 50 or so miles south. Stone on top of that monument was the original corner set by Joseph C. Brown. Modern corner is across the street set by MO DNR seems to not agree with a local.

All of these pictures, of corners of states, are nice; but what about monuments memorializing great places of early settlement? The photo I posted commemorates the 1853 site of Camp Montgomery, along the Naches branch of the Oregon trail.

Do all y'all have monuments like this?

Does photo #1 count?  Can't get any earlier settlement than #3 anywhere near here.  For those who continue, #4 may be upsetting.
