My wife (@Angel, a moderator here, for those not in the know) left quite frantically this morning at about 5:40am on a plane bound for Southern California. The call we've been expecting for awhile now came, saying that her Mom was in the hospital for various reasons (long story). We certainly hope her Mom pulls through, as she has done many times in the past, but this is much more severe than previous times. I'm not sure she's going to be with us much longer and I don't like saying that. Hopefully, by some miracle, she'll pull through. But if she has to go, I hope it is peacefully and without pain.
Anyway, she asked that I update you all about what's going on, so here you go. Sorry for the downer, but we'd definitely welcome your positive thoughts. It's barely been a year since Angel literally watched her Aunt and Uncle pass away within 6 weeks of each other, so she hadn't fully recovered from all of that yet. She's had some traumatic life events to deal with over the last few years with barely a break in between. It's not something I would wish on anyone but I can say from personal experience how incredibly strong, passionate, loving and caring she is. She makes me proud and honored to be her spouse, but dammit man she needs (and deserves) a break from this crap.
Sorry, I'm rambling now. She just asked me to update you, so there you have it. I'll keep updates going here as I find them out and have time to post. Thanks everyone.
Gees Man. Sorry to hear about that.
Wasn't Angel also suppose to be having some surgery this month as well?
Something about her eyes if I recall.
Prayers for you all from me.

Really sorry to hear all that. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you.
Praying for both of you and for her mom and family in this difficult time.

Your family are in my thoughts and prayers. You guys need a break!!!
Faith, strength and peace to y'all.
Dang it. Why does so much bad stuff get piled on really good people?
Send Angel my well wishes to both her and her mom. Sometimes I think that my becoming the oldest generation left in the family at the age of 38 was a good thing. Hang in and you have lots of people with ya.
Give Angel a hug (virtual and otherwise) from all of us. Our prayers are with all three of you.

Y'all are at that age when the older folks go on to their reward. It's not a pleasant time when all you know and love changes.
Yesterday you were enjoying the comfort of family. Your kids called your Dad "Papa" and that made him smile.
Then things suddenly changed. The old ones were gone and there is that hollow feeling left behind.
Then it hits you like a ton of bricks. Now YOU are the "Papa" and you have duties to the young ones to fulfill.
Life changes and moves one. The memories refocus and you hope that you leave as many good ones for the new generation as your Papa did.
Remember the good memories and move on to make new ones for those that will come after you.
I pray Angel finds peace, but, from experience, I can tell you that it does not come quickly. Hang tough and assume your new role in life.
Besides us, Angel has friends in high places an that helps.
I will pray for her strength and for her mother's comfort.

I wish you perseverance, grace, and patience. Hang in.
Wendell

Thanks, guys. It really means a lot to me. I feel like I've been through hell and back already, and about to go through more. But I am strong and they dying/death process does not scare me. I just don't like what it is doing to my momma. :'(
I keep hoping she will bounce back somehow and start cussing at me and dad. 😐

They just gave her last rites a little while ago. She had a massive heart attack this morning. I'm flying down there in the morning.
Prayers for the family! But now the hard part is over and the healing begins. Give hugs and lots of love to the family from US!

Sorry to hear it. Tough times ahead, but you two have been through it before, and time will make things better.
Oh, wow, so sorry to hear that for both of you. I've been through that, losing a parent so quickly is the hardest. Thinking of you all tonight. Andy
