CASSVILLE, Mo. -- Parents of Monett High School players are upset about something that happened at a girls basketball game at Cassville High School on Feb. 4. Cassville players admitted they poured urine into a water cooler used by Monett players during the game.
Parents of Monett High School players got a letter about the prank from Monett school administrators on Wednesday. The letter says four members of the Cassville team each urinated into a cup, then poured urine from only one player into the cooler. It says Cassville High School administrators learned about the prank on Tuesday.
The letter says Cassville school leaders punished the players and are looking into whether "further discipline is warranted." It also says Cassville administrators "apologized for the incident and regret that anything of this nature has occurred."
The letter says Monett school administrators are looking into the health risks involved, and asked infectious disease specialists for assistance.
Advertisement"Our understanding at this time is that the individual whose urine was used will be undergoing tests to determine if any health risks are present. We will pass along any information we receive," says the letter, which was signed by Monett High School Principal David Steward and Athletic Director Daryl Bradley.
Cassville administration would not comment on whether urine tests are in fact being done.
One Monett parent, who opted not to speak on camera, is concerned about potential diseases to which her daughter may have been exposed.
Monett High School administrators met with the Lady Cubs team and coaching staff on Wednesday afternoon to talk about the prank.
Cassville School District Superintendent Jill LeCompte sent a written statement on the incident that says they've "investigated the incident and determined that an inappropriate act had occurred. Disciplinary actions have been taken."
The letter to Monett parents also ask that no retaliation be done.
"We are asking you, as parents, to help us work with our girls and their friends to handle this situation with professionalism and restraint. We understand that all of us in Monett are angered and frustrated by this occurrence and the amount of time before the incident came to light. We encourage you to support our stance that retaliation in any way stoops to the level of the offense committed against us and is counter productive. Our goal is to work through any lingering issues and put this incident behind us quickly," the letter says.
Monett's superintendent says the district has set up a meeting with health department officials next week for the girls and their parents to discuss health concerns.
Talk about disappointing ......that is so far out there how would you get through to these students?
Don't fear. If it was girl pee, then Ted Dura went and broke his "No Water" rule, and drank all the fluid in the cooler!
"A new low in so-called sportsmanship"
Who is calling this prank "sportsmanship"?

Dudes in Japan would pay top dollar for a jug of that gatorade.:-O
I think I take issue with calling it a "prank".
> I think I take issue with calling it a "prank".
Take it up with KY3 News.
Their article calls the prank a "prank" four times and rightly leaves "sportsmanship" out.
They should call it what it really is, a "crime".
> They should call it what it really is, a "crime".
Yep...like felony food fights and toilet-papering houses being considered vandalism...the new norm.
Hey, it could have been a Baby Ruth or V8 Juice... 😉
Sorry, but if someone urinated in my, or my kid's drink, and tricked them into drinking it, I'd do my best to press charges and probably sue them personally. If you think it's just a funny prank, that's fine. We'll have to disagree on that point.

Who said anything about being funny? There's nothing funny about this particular mischievous example of a prank. But it was a prank and hardly newsworthy.
BTW, how should the teen be charged? What should her penalty be?
If they know the person responsible, that person could clean the girls bathrooms in the opposing team's school......for a month!
Crap like this has consequences!

Now that's the spirit!
A worker at Dominos Pizza was charged with felony for putting "boogers" in food, although they claimed no one ate it. She plead down to a lesser charge and got 45 days in jail, 18 months probation, and 200 hours of community service. Sounds about right to me.
>The woman plead guilty to “Distribution of certain food at Halloween and all other times prohibited,” a lesser charge than the felony food adulteration charge she was first hit with. The statute makes it unlawful to “…cause to be placed in a position of human accessibility, any food or eatable substance which that person knows to contain: (1) Any noxious or deleterious substance, material or article which might be injurious to a person’s health or might cause a person any physical discomfort…”
>The charge carries a max 120-day suspended sentence, but the judge gave her 45 days and 18 months probation. While on probation she can’t work in any kind of restaurant or food or drink serving establishment. She also has to do 200 hours of community service.

Here's where we'll disagree. I can't see charging this high school prank as a felony.
[sarcasm]Now, if this high school were in North Carolina, there's a chance this student might graduate to garnishing pizza with boogers. But at least we know what their putting in the water in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.[/sarcasm] 😉
Maybe they've been watching Bear Grylls on Man vs Wild
On what planet would this behavior be considered a harmless prank? Where does it end? Would feces have been OK too?
Did you see..
..one of our local High School baseball teams in a tournament (Norman North) at Pensacola, FL?
I believe it was yesterday. One player gets tagged out at first (with a glove to the face). Somebody hears a racial slur. The benches empty. Young bucks having a real slug-fest.
I believe both teams received multiple forfeits. It was truly disgusting behaviour for something called a "sport".

Who said anything about harmless?
Gross. :bored: +o( :-X
