Now you can enable web push notifications for our private messaging system. What this means, if enabled, is that you will receive notifications in your browser when you are away from RPLS.com and receive private messages. You may have already noticed the little pop-up box at the bottom of your browser that is asking for permission -- you can choose to enable or dismiss -- totally your choice.
I've tested in multiple browsers and the only one that caused me a problem was Brave, but for good reason. Brave is very privacy-focused, so you often have to enable some of the settings that are disabled by default in order to use certain services or features. In this particular case, I had to enable Google services for push notifications (see screenshot below). Since Brave is built upon Chromium, it's essentially a locked-down version of Chrome. For what it's worth, most mainstream browsers are based on Chromium these days, including Edge.

It seems like push opens a can of worms. I'm a luddite, still searching Windows for the button that says "Looks like XP."
My favorite mail program on my phone, Blue Mail recently updated with many new features that I don't want, especially AI to interpret my emails. It did exactly what I wanted for multiple accounts. It's now much slower, takes much more memory, and I don't like the new look.
