Three incidents of stolen equipment in about a week - Vancouver, Canada

Hi Everyone,

Equipment (Leica TS12) was stolen yesterday, Tuesday, May 10th at approximately 10:30am, corner of W 67 Avenue and French Street, Vancouver, just east of Granville Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada.

The following equipment was stolen Friday, May 6th at approximately 3:30pm in Richmond, BC, Canada: TCR403 Ultra (S/N 252433), Leica DNA3 Digital Level (S/N 334058).

Yet, another incident took place earlier in Surrey, BC, Canada. Total of three incidents with very similar circumstances in short period of time.

That's a real PITA, sorry to hear about it. My first suspicion would be an inside job, or someone casing your crews.

All three incidents happen to different survey companies. But you are right in that it seems like it is people with knowledge of survey tools and their value.

The equipment was possibly stolen to order.
