@holy-cow?ÿ

Areas along the coast are highly developed and very populated. Going inland a little ?ÿbit we have a lot of ag and yes, cow pastures, with sugarcane and watermelon being major crops. Further inland you would have your Sawgrass swamps and cypress heads, traditional ƒ??Evergladesƒ?? type terrain.

Glad to be on this site with fellow surveyors!

Welcome! It's good to have another Floridian here. Did you know Louis Vest? I met him briefly one day over in Tampa in 1994, if I remember correctly. We were supposed to have met up later that day, but it didn't happen. I heard he passed away a number of years ago. He had a great reputation, and his field notes were excellent!

Thanks @field-dog. No the name Louis Vest does not ring a bell. Did most of my work in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Sarasota counties.?ÿ
Did know Jose Sanches and/or Alex Parnes who worked in Tampa. Did you know either of those guys?

@retiredoldsurveyor?ÿ

I don't know Jose or Alex. What kind of surveying did you do? I really like the historical aspects of surveying, such as finding original corners.

Have you ever looked the ƒ??I-4 curseƒ? at Lake Monroe? There supposedly was old a cemetery within the R/W between Lake Monroe and SR. 46. Apparently the residents were upset at becoming a paved over and vowed revenge. Subsequently this area of I-4 has more than its share of unexplained crashes. Just a short time ago this is the area a semi truck full of Turkeys crashed. I have not looked into the area at old maps to see if the cemetery ever existed but it sounds like fun for historians.

Man, that's a lot of wasted turkey! No, I've never looked at the "I-4 curse" at Lake Monroe. So, it's like the Poltergeist movie?
