Not a surveyor but used many times. I'm looking for some software which I can run on my windows pc to plot out deeds. Reason being is I review legal descriptions but unable to visualize them. If I could see how the boundaries show up I would have a better idea of if I'll purchase it. Once purchased I could have it divided up by a local surveyor. Have seen the U.S.Surveyor for free and Deedplot for a fee, have no issue of spending the money just would like to find something that would actually work
Howdy. Welcome.
carlsonsw.com
Nothing against Carlson, but for what you want to do I would check out PC Survey.....about a 1/4 of the price....converts poles, chains, etc which we know Kentucky deeds are famous for....just my 0.02 cents worth...you can purchase just the cogo part or whatever for a smaller price than the whole software bundle....
I'll check them both out, appreciate the info
Thanks
I bet carlsonsw.com is a great package but a bit pricy for personal use only 1750
PC Survey is in the range, shows 249 for cogo, then additional for survey, layout and DTM (not sure what that is). Would I need the full 600 package to do what I want?
Deedplot is 200 but my guess is you get what you pay for but never used any of them I don't know

I recommend Traverse PC, it allows you to enter deed calls in spreadsheet format and make changes on the fly and see the drawing change in real time.
Traverse PC appears to be another one which will do it at 800
Guess I'll keep comparing, thanks much

Layout is for staking construction (for the most part) and DTM is Digital Terrain Model; for creating contour maps.

About once a year they have half price sale and you can get personal addition for $250?
Does the software have to be updated? Wouldn't want something which I would have to update every so many years. I have an old version of Quicken and it will not go out and check bank accounts but it still works as stand alone.
