Hi there! Nice to see that interesting place. I'm experienced land surveyor from Bulgaria. Prefer to work with Trimble, Civil 3D, sometimes Leica if no Trimble around :). Work in the areas of constructions, but also site design, cadastral and so on. Hope to meet interesting people here.
Regards Iliya

@holy-cow?ÿ
Thank you!
Really nice question - how surveyors are born :))).?ÿ
First- In the college in my hometown (there were a lot of mines) i started with learning surveying in mines . After?ÿsuccessful finish, I become a student in University of Architecture, constructions and surveying in capital of Bulgaria - Sofia. Started to work in the last two years in university and finish it successfully too. And since then- a lot of different tasks, projects with international teams in Bulgaria- Airports, Thermal Power Plant, Mines and little abroad (Moskow - wrong direction, but also in Odessa- Ukraine). Now I live and work in Plovdiv. Like studying new things, programming with C#, refreshing some knowledge from university...

I took a little time to read about Plovdiv at the Wikipedia site.?ÿ What an incredible history!?ÿ In ancient times, it seems everyone wanted to take it for themselves.?ÿ Greeks, Turks, Persians, Huns, Goths, Romans, Macedonians and several others.?ÿ It must be challenging to work around so many historical sites that are protected.

Your virtual trip in Plovdiv is really great honor to me! Well, one of many historical sites in Bulgaria meet me with my feature wife. I had to measure ancient basilic in Misionis while she was working in municipality in near town :). But in general there is not so many work for surveyors in these places unfortunately. Even, some archeologists have GPS and doing what they need without need of professional surveyors. Yes, we really have a great and interesting history. A lot of battles from great empire in time of Simeon I of Bulgaria- to shames like 500 years under Ottoman rule and later after second world war unfortunately russian colony and socialism. It's our pride Slavic alphabet (Cyrillic) developed by time of Boris I in Preslav. Russia still refu¥es to accept this. Makedonia- the ancient exist until 148 b.c. for no more than 640 years, since then it's a Byzantium and Bulgarian territory. Their language has no difference from Bulgarian. It's a Stahlin decision to make from Bulgaria - Makedonia, Trakia and Dobrudja. Anyway long story :))

Hi from Bulgaria as well. Even though Bulgaria is quite small it is full with beautiful places - some are made by mother nature, some are sculptured by the history.?ÿ
