Hello, I am a student at the University of Oklahoma studying GIS. This will be my second career. My current/previous career is in Aviation. Ideally I'd like to blend my twenty plus years of aviation experience with GIS. I'm also a pilot. My dream job would be doing some aerial mapping or photography. Any suggestions on such an amazing job will be appreciated. Thank you.

'Boomer' fellow Normanite. You might check with these folks: Aerial Data Service, out of Tulsa.
Everybody that I knew there is probably dead or gone, but they're still a strong outfit with offices and projects all over the place.
Looks like they even have some openings: ADS positions available
Good luck and welcome to the bull pen.
welcome
Drones.

I think that the UAS market is over-saturated with too much uncertainty regarding FAA compliance issues.
This is the place to be. We have such a tremendous range of experiences that someone on here, if not many, can normally be of assistance. Ask and ye shall receive, but not necessarily the same answer.
