Hello all,

My name is Monte king and I have been a long time lurker. I have been with BLM Cadastral Survey for 27 years. I have worked in several states in both PLSS and M&B. I am licensed in Alabama and Idaho. If interested, the following linked video is a small glimpse into my career and was done/allowed as outreach for BLM Cadastral Survey. (

?ÿ)

My main reason for this introduction is to share a couple of educational/outreach resources.

1) This link is to Classroom Investigation/Middle School Teacher guides published by BLM. One recently published for Cadastral Survey is at the bottom of the page. https://www.blm.gov/classroominvestigations

?ÿ

2) Attached PDFs are just general "handouts" for Cadastral Survey. They are not officially published but are the remnants of my draft classroom investigation from when it was edited for publication. I just could not discard the information as it is a great supplement for outreach to kids and/or just good info for folks interested in boundary surveying.

?ÿ

Enjoy and thank you!

Welcome and thanks for the new info!  It's always interesting to see a new spin on the origins of the PLSS.  Well done!
