Typing in the box at the bottom.

It would seem that nothing additional is allowed in the #1 post. It also appears that posts that do add to an existing post do not get their own # assigned.
Very confusing!

It appears we have Reply; Comment and "this" box at the bottom.

If we choose reply; it quotes the post (not the thread) we are replying to and adds our comment under that post. If we comment; then it's just our comment, under the post. If we use the box at the bottom then our post goes to the bottom.

This is if we use explorer or chrome on our desktop. All bets are off if it's another device or operating system.

We also have the more options button tied to the box at the bottom.

here we can upload a file for example,
And ask, what are the messages removed from public view? Is that moderated spam or something?

  • Using the Reply button posts replies as additional replies to the original post, and quotes the reply where the Reply button was clicked. (lol)
  • Using the Comment button posts comments under the reply where the Comment button was clicked.
  • Using the editor box at the bottom adds replies to the original post, which will appear at the bottom of the list.
  • I'm still trying to confirm, but it seems that you can't comment to the OP in the same way you can comment to replies. That is, comments to the OP are treated as replies. That actually makes sense.

I've tweaked the styling a bit to the comments to see if that helps with display on mobile devices.

This is a blatant ambiguity... I click on the "Comment" button in the SE quadrant of post #48 and in the NW corner of my edit box it says, "Reply To..."- also on the bottom of this edit box it says "Reply to Thread" on the leftmost button... Hmmm...

That said, testing "Comment" on aforesaid post.

All posts are assigned numbers. The original post and replies to it have numbers shown to the right of the options offered. Comments get numbers to the left of the options offered.
