This is a test a couple of us have setup to see what happens when I as a blocked or Ignored person starts a post and others respond.
Does that person see this post at all?
And what happens when some one responds here.
So please can anyone comment and we'll see what happens.

Thanks for replies.
Will see what the bloke that Ignored me can see.

Proved what was probably obvious.
My being blocked by one person doesn't prevent the whole thread being open for others.

Ah, but it did prevent me from seeing the thread until I searched an unignored user. Then I could see it but not your posts.
The thread itself did not appear to me in "Recent Posts."

All revealed.
@yswami "bloke" "fella" = male person - general colloquial term
All well meaning, respectful in my upbringing.
Just don't look up "fella". Has some interesting newer applications.

Had a new neighbor call me "mate". It felt pretty good. I call people fella all the time, I better look that one up now.

Its one of those old fashioned phrases/ colloquialisms that's been adopted (hijacked) for other uses. And more.
But seeing this post is about Ignored/ Blocked Users, I'm not going near that or Admin may decide enough is enough.

Yes Mate very common hrte, Cobber -latter less common nowadays
Some get offended with mate, if you're NOT their mate (friend) and use that term. Latter can be a difference between a fight and not a fight (fisticuffs)

If somebody *just happened* to have an obnoxious side to their personality (I have a few) and, managed to get a big pile of IGNORES, and they knew about it. Would that promote this site? Some would ignore me. (Already do!) Anyway, that is a novel thought.

Surveyor, with an obnoxious side!
IF I knew I was the MOST ignored poster, would I be prone to act upon it? Probably. Go looking for more folk to annoy!

Just having annoying thoughts.

Ok I will comment as requested.
Shortly after the rollover to the new format, I chose to 'ignore' a small cadre of posters. I started with ten as an arbitrary number. Ironically, most were long time and popular posters.
I wanted to see if traffic would ease and also had heard enough of their banter through the years.
I know that these are good people and probably good surveyors. I did choose to 'ignore' because of their online persona or mask.
So, I don't see posts that they create unless there is a reply. I can choose to read their comments on posts without losing the 'Ignore' option.
I do this at times if the thread is interesting.
My ignore list has dropped to seven and holding.

Last night, I reported Wendell to the Moderator. She has a whip. I wonder if Wendell is still around? I reported him for saying that you cannot ignore a moderator. So, he can't ignore his wife!, and she cannot ignore him! H e hehehehehhe

"Bloke" and "Sheila" - generic (is Sheila still Ok to say?)
"Mate" or cobber (friend, acquaintance)
"Ocker" (if stereotypicallly Aussie... not always complimentary... often has a name like Bazza)
"Donk" (usually large and not very bright, but a good mate to have on your side in a fight or scrimage)
"I ops yer chooks tuns to Emu's and kicks yer dunny down" (an ocker-ish insult)

Donk. That's not one I've heard here, but rather it refers to a car, truck engine.
I've also heard it in reference to a bloke's Old Fella (penis)

Sheila. I grew up on that phrase but was surprised recently to be told some women see it in a derogatory sense.
Women also get called "birds" here, quite common.

Also "Chum". Same as mate, Cobber.
But also as adjective, more so than mate. Don't here "matey" like one hears "chummy". "He's quite chummy"
I've had some women call me "matey" but don't think I've heard a bloke call me that. Probably like "darling", "sweety" its a female to male address.
I had a client recently who constantly call me "darling". One could say she was quite "chummy".

Our local colloquialisms are becoming a bit blurry, and younger ones don't grow up in the slang environment of my youth..
Many words too get less use due to that.

Ignoring is much like the snobbishness attributed to certain circles who hold themselves to be superior because they refuse to mix with the common populace. If one pretends a certain group of individuals do not exist, then, perhaps, they really don't exist. During the college years it was a source of pride to respond "GDI" when asked for a fraternity connection. "I" stood for "independent". You can figure out the first two letters quite well on your own. The shunning of Greeks by GDI's was the response to the shunning of GDI's by the Greeks. All in all a giant wasted effort as both entities existed and everyone knew it.

There was only one fraternity that I would have considered joining but there was no local unit thereof. That would be the I Felta Delta fraternity. Some of the :poop:-kickers had an interest in joining the Alpha Falpha Hay fraternity.

When you ignore a user, they can still see your posts unless they have also ignored you.
