And, the prize is a T shirt from Wendel "Survey Connect" or "Beer Leg", or a mug, or a hat of the same.

So, let's get those cameras rolling....

And see what Wendell thinks!

Why stop there, couldn't we get Wendell maybe to just give $100 per week to the person with the best picture, or maybe the POD for two "T" shirts?

My point is, and I'm sure you didn't intend it this way, I feel it's rude to obligate someone to do something, especially when it is of some form of monetary value ("T" shirts cost money). I'm sure you see that now. You're not malicious by nature Nate.

And there should be a handicap applied against all those photos taken in Alaska to even out the playing field.:-D

I agree that it's a great idea.
I agree that nothing should be coming out of Wendel's pocket.

How about Entry fee of 1/2 price of T-shirt. That probably should cover the cost, and if you lose, your donating to the cause!

Probably be better on a Bi-monthly timespan.

Laughing on that one Merlin. But no doubt we need some sort of handicapping edge if Daryl enters for sure!

Wendell posts the best picture every week...or month on this web page when you open it up.

I disagree with some kind of prize.

Well, guys, to be honest, I've been wanting to build a photo gallery where other registered users can rate and comment on them. The main photo gallery page could have a "featured" photo each month based on user ratings. What do you think of that?

I could probably squeak out a free t-shirt or something else here and there. I do have some unopened items here (most are surveying-related) from the surveying business that I shutdown earlier this year, and I was saving said items specifically to be used as prizes. For the record, it's pretty good stuff, too.

🙂

P.S. The drawback with the t-shirts is the price of ordering one at a time. I recently placed a new order and they will arrive soon, with several extras, so we'll have some inventory (although somewhat limited). To make the prices reasonable for the next order, I would need 14 orders per design (multiple shirt and ink colors are okay). Since orders come in at around 1 per month, that system just isn't working very well. So I will likely just sell off the inventory that I have and maybe just pre-order some batches here and there as I feel comfortable siphoning off BL/SC funds (I'm trying to make sure there is a surplus to pay for hosting well into the future).

Looks like everyone except one knows enough to stand away from the instrument. Also I would close the instrument box before standing on it to read the rod.

I know that spot....it's near the Hague.....terrible traffic and I would never turn my back on an instrument in that area.

Correction....that's at the end of bute street.

I still wouldn't turn my back on the gun though.

Tripod gorilla and accoutrements was bought by my wife at a shop on Lincoln Road in South Beach....she always looks for "survey stuff".

Bear with "rod" is a "long time companion".

Kris, you are so right

I was headed out the door, this morn, and had a "great idea flitter through my haid" and posted it, without thinking about it entirely. I posted it, so I would get it posted, before altheimers got it. BTW, altheimers is a really bad thing, but I forget what is does.

Sorry Wendell.

🙁

Nate
