I am inquiring about the range others are getting using a Trimble R6/R8 receiver pushing GNSS data through a Trimble TDL 450 radio in both summer and winter conditions. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Depends on the terrain and obstacles. We've seen anywhere from 1 mile to 6 miles of range with ours.

Like Cyril said, all depends on topography. Around here terrain is the biggest obstacle. I can usually get a couple miles with just the internal radio if the base is elevated and not down in a hole. I usually configure my TDL 450 as a repeater. I'll look for a window with a scanner where I'm picking up a strong signal to set the repeater and that will usually kick it out another couple miles or around the mountain in my way. Bit farther in winter without all the foliage I guess. Beyond that, I'll just move the base.

Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.

When I used my 4700 receivers with a Trimmark IIe radio we could get at least 6 miles in open terrain. We work in open flat topography with no trees. Once we went to GNSS and the TDL radio, we have gone over 8 miles. As of late we are getting 3 miles max. Some days we can go 6 miles and later in the day only 200' with cold weather. I am just trying to get a feel for what others are seeing. Thank you to those who have supplied replies.

When was the last time you updated your TDL's firmware? I dealt with the same issue last year until I called our dealer's tech center. Turned out that I had an outdated firmware that wasn't able to handle the data packets as effectively as when we first purchased the equipment. Uploaded the new firmware per their instructions and we were good to go.

We have seen that once the ambient temperature warms up, the symptoms disappear. I believe the issue is with the TDL 450 radio in cold temperatures. We have gathered data at 12 miles in the summer and are now down to 3 miles or less. Is there another radio that can be used broadcast the GNSS data using a Trimble setup?

with the 450 radios before Narrowbanding, we had gotten 8-9 miles in wide open conditions, but usually 4-5 miles was normal.
the new ADL + Trimble 35w radios have limited us to about 3 miles in mostly open conditions. seems a bit less in town, and more when you get in the wide open spaces.
have not really pushed the distances to test for weather conditions - how hot/cold will affect us. Will need to give that a test sometime before it's HOT again.
