Anyone here using SNIP for an NTRIP caster via Bluetooth?
I'm looking for assistance setting this up with a Topcon Hiper VR using Bluetooth and a dynamic IP address. So I will need to set up a Dynamic DNS Client such as the suggested RTK2Go.
Oh well, no help.?ÿ ?ÿ
?ÿ
However, I figured it out on my own. I can get NTRIP corrections from base to rover now, using cell modem at each side, with SNIP.
Next part to figure out: How to set up a Peer-to-Peer IP connection with NTRIP RTK base and Drone, where the drone gets the correction at the controller.?ÿ I want to test if I can get corrections to the drone without cell service. NTRIP only looks for an IP address and port. So if I can create an AdHOC connection, then, in theory, I will not need cell service. The wi-fi range is not a problem as the Base station will be less than 100ft from the Drone controller, where it will receive the NTRIP correction.
@leegreen Did you end up using RTK2go??ÿ What version of NTRIP did you use for your account, Rev 1 or Rev 2.?ÿ I'm having troubles getting my GS16 base to send data to their caster.?ÿ No problems getting any of their mount points to work on the rover.?ÿ My account is set up as Rev 2 and I'm beginning to wonder if that is the problem.
I have tested rev1 for sending my base corrections to RTK2go. My rover which is located less than 2m from the base was able to receive the corrections from my base mountpt and got a fix in less than 5 minutes.

Can you recommend any other free NTRIP Caster sites similar to RTK2Go.com?
@john-putnam?ÿ If this is still an open issue (if you cannot connect and use RT2go.com for your corrections), please PM me or send a note to our support folks at <support@use-snip.com> for help.?ÿ I just looked for your reservation on that machine a moment ago; I see it, but it shows you never in fact connected with it.?ÿ Your current setting are to use NTRIP Rev2 for your base (aside: Rover devices, that is NTRIP Clients, can use Rev1 or Rev2 as they wish).
Check emlid caster.
@dc-kelley I am finding it difficult to get my Base to stream data out, in troubleshooting, I found out my IP had been Banned a couple of times. Registered my Mountpoint with rev 2.
The NTRIP Server in Trimble WebUI lit up green at some point and showed the www.RTK2go.com:2101 address and port.
Now, I think it might be that I used the password I created instead of the Temp one, or maybe because I used a password longer than 6 characters cause I??m using a Trimble NetR9 with a older firmware, v5.22. or my network is weak and it??s dropping my connection too frequently this violation the service.
Please kindly help with this situation.
Figured out what??s been the problem. Had RTCM 3.2, CMRx, RT27?ÿ@1Hz?ÿupdate rate as well as OmniData[Trimbe] all streaming out.
I think the Caster Services [rtk2go and Emlid Caster] don??t support other Stream Format.
Emlid does have legacy options that seem to work w/ Trimble gear by user reports.
https://docs.emlid.com/reachrs2/reachview-3/settings-overview/#base-mode
Pay attention to the legacy options.?ÿ Per my reading, Trimble usually requires legacy 1008.?ÿ Note that I have not tried this in person yet (too many side projects, too little time).?ÿ?ÿ

PotatoFarmer is a farmer from Alberta who has successfully connected first gen Trimble GPS ag products to Emlid products.?ÿ Researching his posts on the Emlid forums is recommended.?ÿ The Trimble EZ Guide 150 is about as basic a GPS system as one could get and it connects when using an Emlid rover/base combo.

We hope to use his methodology to run our Versatile in a similar setup to his Steiger using AgOpenGPS.

I think the Caster Services [rtk2go and Emlid Caster] don??t support other Stream Format.
A few comments.?ÿ NTRIP was designed to be content agnostic.?ÿ Most NTRIP Casters will support any format you give them, this is of course true for SNIP (cannot speak for the Emlid product).?ÿ This is true for SNIP, Trimble, Leica, Topcon, and BNC, that is well over 99+% of the Casters out there. But you must have only one type of message format in the data stream at a time (so you cannot mix CMR/CMR+ and RTCM3.x).
SNIP bans IPs for short periods of time (~3 hours) when an NTRIP Client (a rover) or Server (a base) repeatedly connects with bad credentials, bad data (esp cheap RTKLIB based software), and various other obvious hostile connections.?ÿ Each SNIP deployment (there are thousands) can select to set these values as the owner chooses, but bad connections are not generally a problem as the user community is known to the Caster operator.
RTK2go is just a generic copy of the SNIP Caster run on a free public site you have to register to use it with your base. But is is also one of the worlds most heavily used NTRIP Casters, so we have to do these temp bans to folks that abuse it so the rest of the community can use it.?ÿ If you follow the instruction and use a valid email as your log in user name, it will send you back an email with detailed instructions about what was wrong that resulted in a ban. If you are having a problem send the tech support folks an email (support[at]use-snip.com)?ÿ
