Dose anyone here have experience or opinion on the latest Stonex brand of receivers? I used one as a base station/network rover with a Field Genius tablet a few years back. I did have some problems with some data export (mostly 0.00 vertical values). Not sure if it was due to the Field Genius software or if it was the Stonex antenna. Rather than waste my time trying to resolve the issue, I re measured with Leica and all was right with my world.

They boast about getting as good as, or better results than the big boys do. I am a Leica user. Just curious to see what opinions are out there.

Thanks

I feel the newest budget receivers have mostly closed the gap, performance wise, with the big name receivers. Most new items on the market are going to support all the constellations along with L5 signals.

The big difference is with quality control and productivity. I ordered a cheap (not stonex) set of receivers and the bluetooth wasn't working on one of them straight out of the box. I doubt that would happen with Trimble or Leica gear. The other issue is with data collector software. You are are going to lose out on the convenience factor if you are a Trimble or Leica shop and try to add in a Stonex receiver. I think field genius is one of the only ones to support low end gear. The newest version of Carlson SurvPC no longer supports the cheap stuff in order to funnel customers to the Brx7.
