Is anyone familiar with some of these lower end GNSS measuring systems?

promark

I've used Trimble R8, Leica ATX130GG, and Leica GS14 with CS15 as network rovers, and I am wondering what differences to expect. I'm assuming it won't be as nice as the more expensive models, but what types of things make it different? Initialization time? Accuracy of solution? Ease of use of software?

Dan,

I have owned (2) Promark 3 receivers. They were excellent as static receivers. I used them to supplement my Hiper RTK base/rover setup to set static pairs for control while running robotic.

Same here. Set up two on site, let run. Use third to set additional control or offsite. Easy to use. Easy to post process autonomously or with CORS. Very accurate for static control on robot setups. Not prestigious, but you get a good survey out the door with documentation in your file. Good Luck.

It says "RTK, NTRIP, Direct IP and GLONASS enabled" which indicates it can be used as a network rover. Does anyone have experience using it in this capacity? It sounds like you've gotten good results from the receiver itself in a static setting. This leads me to believe it's a good piece of hardware.

Mark Silver with Igage has a lot of information on the Promark Receivers. He also has some other offerings such as the X90 OPUS. I upgraded to the X90 OPUS receivers and use OPUS as a blunder check.

I now have my Hiper RTK base/rover setup (static capable), and (2) OPUS X90 receivers. I like having static pairs on my jobs when the need is there.

I can't say about the newer Promarks. But I had an array of Promark IIs that performed flawlessly for years, starting about 2003 or 2004. And I still prefer Ashtech's post-processing software. Sold my last three receivers about two or three years ago.

Both entities in your ad, Ashtech AND Hayes, are top-notch in my book. You probably can't go wrong.

Promark 3s are great receivers. The PPK option works very well. I like them better than the expensive receivers.

I have Never used anything but JAVAD, Old 1990's and the new versions, Topcon GR3 and Trimble 5700-R8-2
My opinion is the new JAVAD Triumph 2 wins hands down. $4K for an RTK 214 channel receiver. $2+K for static.
