We are using a leica GS14 with a CS15 data collector. We work mostly within about 50 miles of Boston. We have an account to use MassCors network (free) and Maine Technical (paid). My question is regarding the sim card. We currently have it installed in the data collector. Would it be advantageous to move the sim to the GPS receiver? I know there is a spot to hook up an external antenna. What I don't know is if the antenna is for connecting to a base on site, or if it can be used to increase the cell signal and help with the RTK location. Any advice would be appreciated.

The external antenna is for the onboard UHF radio in the GS14. Having the SIM in the CS15 gives you a lot more flexibility.

That is how I understood it from a few sources online. Just wanted to confirm. Thanks.
