The current Survey Pro on the Ranger is version is 5.1.1
I am able to connect to the receiver using the Ranger controller. I can perform RTK and Static Surveys and change settings using the Ranger while it is connected via Bluetooth or via serial to the Epoch 50. However, when I try to download the data via bluetooth or serial, I get an error on Survey Pro that says "Unable to execute that command in the receiver. Check receiver settings and communication and try again." I'm not the only one who uses this receiver, so I do not know what settings I should change and where to change them if they have been indeed modified, thus, causing the error or if it is a hardware problem.
I'm thinking if I should upgrade the firmware to possibly fix the issue and how to go about the update. I've seen that the latest one as of my googling is v5.10, however, when I checked the release notes of v5.1, it says that the current version of the receiver before upgrading to v5.10 must be v4.62 or higher. When I checked the release notes of v4.62, it says I must have a valid firmware warranty and the receiver must have firmware dated March 2012 or later. How do I check or know if I am valid to upgrade to v4.62.
Upgrading is not really a requirement since I'm just assuming that an upgrade would solve the data download problem. If there is a different solution to successfully downloading the data from the Epoch 50 without upgrading, that would be fine.
Have you tried a hard/factory reset? If not, you can execute from the controller by going to Job>Settings>Receiver Profiles tab. Select the receiver profile and tap the settings button. Find the Reset tab and tap Factory Reset. (going from memory so some variation is to be expected)
I have not tried to perform a hard/factory reset because I do not know if it will affect other things negatively (ie loss of certificates/registrations to certain features of the receiver).
Would you please enlighten me what to expect when I perform a hard reset on the receiver? Will there be certain features lost that needs to be registered again (I do not have the registration documents,if any, for existing features)?
