Good afternoon,

My name is Paul Petrin and I work for ProDelta Projects Inc. in Fort St. John, BC. I have been asked by a client of ours to edit a '.ggf' file (geoid file) to a particular area in northeastern British Columbia for use in their FOIF units, the file they currently have is too large to be used. Has anyone here been able to edit this type of file successfully?

I am unable to attach the files unfortunately...

Thank you for your time,

I do not know FOIF. But i have created many sub grids of the Geoid model in USA. Back when the data collectors did not have as much memory. So i could size one down to say a particular state or area of the state so it was much smaller in size. Trimble Geomatics Office and Trimble Business Center. I would determine which software they need it in then reach out to that manufacturer and see if they have a tool to do that. Then its pretty easy really. Just load the geoid model that covers all the area and cut out what they need.

You're looking for the Geoid Sub-Grid command in TBC:

If your using Leica kit or software, you create the ggf file using the coordinate system manager in Infinity.
