I've been hearing really good things about these receivers...people blown away by their performance.?ÿ Just curious - a search on here referenced the "Hemisphere blowup" between them and Carlson.?ÿ What exactly happened there?

There is a Stonex S900A with Altlas that appears to be the same receiver.?ÿ Claimed to be made in Italy, by a Chinese company?

Specifications and pricing are great.?ÿ Options of Android app, Carlson SurvCE/PC, Field Genius (android option).?ÿ

@kotuku4

I have read (on here) where Carlson will discontinue support for these Stonex units because they sell the same receiver branded as Carlson. ?ÿWhich isnƒ??t that big a deal to me, I donƒ??t reckon theyƒ??ll double the price.

To Plumb Bill?ÿ?ÿ

Apparently Carlson wants to go proprietary with their software and GNSS units.?ÿ They want to buy the GNSS units from Hemisphere but dont want hemisphere users to use their software.?ÿ Hemisphere users of the S631 (BRX7), must use a different software to run the machine.?ÿ

This is what I have been told.?ÿ ?ÿ

@goodgps

In a sense that seems contradictory to what has been their recipe for success, but I found this online where even Hemisphere is admitting they contributed to the design, etc. - so I sort of understand since they have "skin in the game" on these:

Setting up a base station amidst a bunch of bulldozer track prints would make me nervous.
