Fellow surveyors,
I recently bought a trimble r8 model 1 GPS base and receiver unit. I thought I had set everything up correctly, but there is limited information setting up the older r8 with survey controller v12.5.?ÿ Can anyone find a link to or walk me through step by step so that the r8 base and receiver communicate with one another.?ÿ The radios on the r8 are internal, I am using bluetooth.?ÿ My data collector identifies both r8 units in the bluetooth menu.?ÿ I am not sure if I am setting up the radios correctly..?ÿ I think you have to do one unit at a time and set up the radio configuration under "survey styles".?ÿ I thought I did that..?ÿ The unit that I am using for a base see satellites, when I go through and start the base..?ÿ the program will start the base and drop the connection to the unit. ?ÿ The same thing happens with my other data collector, so I don't think it is the program.
Survey controller is very old software. Somewhere there are survey styles or something called similar.?ÿ You need to set the rover radio link and base radio link to the same frequency and the same baud rate.
