I have two Ashtech Zxtreme units (purchased from a member here) that I use for OPUS.?ÿ They have been reliable for several years, but one of the CF cards now cannot be read by windows or the unit.?ÿ These units have a Sandisk PCMCIA adapter and use Sandisk CF cards for storage.?ÿ I have ordered a new card (matching the #'s from the original cards) from Amazon.?ÿ I seem to remember a certain formatting method needed for the cards.?ÿ Does anyone know this method or have the software to perform this format?

I hope this unit doesn't turn into a paper weight...

I figured it out. ?ÿ I needed to connect to the unit from my PC with a terminal window and send a command ($PASHS, CLM) to format the memory.?ÿ?ÿ I was able to format the corrupted card and the new one.?ÿ?ÿ I did lose data, just nothing important.?ÿ

It's now choochin' just fine.?ÿ
