I have a couple of the iconic Ashtech Z-12s. They work perfectly. And are particularly useful with OPUS as well a baseline measurement. And that includes GNSS Solutions.
I have been well served by download32 using Windows10 without any issue. Until very recently. I’ve been using a USB to 9-pin cable for several years.
Over time there have been several updates for Win10, which are automatic, and never had been an issue.
However download32 has quit working. The error message is ‘no coms’. Apparently com1 or com3.
Does anyone else use download32? Any reason why download32 quit working?
I’ve of course re-installed download32. The USB-9pin cable shows driver is current, com3 in settings, but download32 sees none.
Is there any other download option for Z-12?
Download32 still works for ZSURVEYOR data files, just not serial downloading.
It’ll be a sad day if Z-12 has be permanently shelved.
Cut my teeth on those . . . circa 1993.
Maybe your best bet is to find an old laptop somewhere that still runs but hasn't been updated.
disable wifi and NEVER connect to the internet. Just use it for download and transer.
