need a replacement Trimble backsight - RMT602, with or without tilting bracket. thank you.
darn thieves......
Joe,
Not sure if this is close to what you need, but here is a Trimble backsight target that I saw over the weekend.
thanks - but that looks a bit different than the RMT602.
(cost is about the same)
here's a post of what I'm looking for - (I'm hoping to find it cheaper)

I actually have 2, thought I lost mine and went an bought another. Mine are the long range version.

Joe ... the one on Ebay is just a newer version. It has long range built in, where you can switch from short/long range by pushing a button, and also can run on AAs, but the one on Ebay apparently includes the external power adapter. I've used both the one on Ebay, and the one you posted, with a Geodimeter 600 and Focus 10, and either will also work with a Trimble 5600.
Joe,
That looks like the one I sent you a link to thru the email.
Did you get the email?
I ran across it while looking for a part for one of my tribrachs.
Jimmy
I have one that I am willing to part with.
Has been on the shelf for years.
Lee
thank you all -
Lee - check your email.
still looking for this prism (571-126-060) for the backsight RMT 602, or similar.
thanks.
Because the instrument tracks the diode, could you get by with reflective tape for now (adjust prism offset for sure)? I sold one on Ebay on March 5 for $51 with the prism. They are out there, you just might have to improvise until one shows up in the right price range.
I have one (or think I have one.)
used it 3 yrs ago.
If you havent got one yet let me know, I will search for it. i had the prism that came with it as well.
still interested - send me an email.

I'm guessing that this is for some sort of active target system? I have an old Topcon Robot that will track most any prism (more or less). So, I really have never seen an active target system work. Does the Trimble system know the difference between the backsite and foresite prisms? Is only one target active at a time? How does that work? I know with my system, you have to be careful crossing your backsite line to make sure it doesn't lock onto the backsite prism unnoticed.

The old Geodimeter / early Trimble active targets aren't distinguishable one from another. My understanding is that the S6/S8 instruments can differentiate between the target IDs of the (very expensive) multi-track targets.
found that the part number for the prism itself has changed one digit - prism # is 571-126-061.
RMT 602 bracket/prism holder/diode # 571-202-220.
still looking to buy both RMT 602 + prism.
1man Surveyor - please reply.
sorry I moved house 4 months ago. So I am not sure where everything is.
I know I saw it when we moved here.
Can anyone tell me if the RMT 606 is compatible with a regular size (not mini) 360 deg prism? Also, what can one use to power it?
I'm hearing the regular prism is not compatible, so I'm in the market for a trimble min prism
