Opinions on a new gun. Topcon PS-103A or Trimble S3...each with a ranger and TDS software. Both are about the same price. Thanks in advance.
Which dealer gives the best service?
Long term, I'm figuring that total cost of ownership will be less for the Topcon.
While the upfront costs may be the same (deliberately I'm sure) Trimble have a habit of charging heaps for things like cables and bateries - not to mention software support...
S3 with the active-track prism (MT-1000).
Have you looked at the Focus 30? Compare the specs to an S6 or S3 and they are virtually the same for a lot less $$$. I just ordered one today!
I like my topcon QS. No complaints.
We buy a lot of equipment. Usually it is Leica or now some Trimble equipment, however its always based on dealer support. Having 10-20 crews running at one time means having a dealer that is always available.
That being said we just bought our 15th Leica robot this week, so my robot preference is Leica. Their 1200+ model and TS12 is price comparable to a lot of makes now.
