I have one, it has been in the storage shed for three years.
It did work when I retired it, traded our 5600 in but they did not want the accessories.
Your are welcome to it, if it still works for you , you can sent me what you feet it is worth.

Lee

Hi Lee,

Thanks for the reply.

Do you happen to still have a brick battery that could power it up to see if you can get a red light?

Thanks,

Jason

Jason

Yes, it powers up, the back clip is broken, but I know those are still available.

The clip part number is R71202254 and if you Google it you will find the stronger one I placed on Shapeways a while back. I wouldn't bother with the GeoRadio myself and would search the threads to find out about a Parani Sd1000 Bluetooth conversion, my 2 cents

Norm -

Thanks for the note about the clip!

I agree the Parani would be a better way to go. Unfortunately with the 5603, from my research, there are two issues with a BT setup on this particular series.

1. The DC has to be directly connected to the TS through calibration before switching over to BT. Not a huge issue but inconvenient. 2. The more critical issue is that a search command cannot be issued from the stick remotely over BT. Evidently Trimble implemented some form of radio type verification. If it does not read the GeoRadio it will not initiate.

Thanks again for the note!

I am guessing that functionality is based upon which system you are using. We were using Survey Controller in TSC2's and I wired the BT to have a bypass for the controller for startup. I know we could use search and I also have read what you said, so, I don't have an answer for that one.

If you end up with the stronger clip, do make sure that the radio isn't just hanging and has something between it and the rod and is Bungee'ed for lack of movement. The stronger clips mean that the case is the weak link and even though I modeled and printed those as well, it isn't a path you want to go.

We are using a 5603 with a TSCe and Survey Controller. I think the SCS is version 13.22. We really just need to upgrade the whole system but the economy is not quite there yet.

What type of TS are you using with the BT? Can you tell me more about the bypass you setup?

Geodimeter 600 all with firmware 696-03.xx or later. You can see the bypass in the photo's in this thread Parani, yet another thread I have since removed the bypass as the newer controllers don't appear to need it
