I am hoping you are not being sarcastic. If not the n here is info.

The Topcon was owned by a local Charlotte survey engineering firm now retired/out of business. Instrument as see from photos was serviced by Transit and Level in Charlotte. Last calibration/service appears to be in 2013.

It has been in storage along with the Nikon for sale on here and other engineering related stuff for last several years. Owner is engineer and has no use for survey equipment.

As for uses it appears to have been used for land surveying and construction layout base on the jobs in the data collectors that I bought with it. There are other uses but those would render it worthless. (I.E.: boat anchor, door stop, lethal weapon).

Any other questions.

Dec,
No sarcasm intended. I find the history and lineage of equipment very interesting.
"Why that was the old transit that laid out Bud Walton Arena...ol' Dan made the cuts and fills balance...every permit was gained...and the bolt patterns??, well the iron workers were singing and tellin' jokes"...

good idea. Go retrace one of George Washington's surveys, or maybe to a topog on the Bud Walton Arena......You'll up the value and Ole Dan will be knocking on your door with a 4 or 5K

Not I. Being used by potential new owner.
Can be used to survey those old pot fields out there in high states.

Would use one of these over any of the new Chinese crap.

I like Topcon products and they seem to be priced fairly. Some guys aren't satisfied unless they pay way too much for a product and make sure it has software that is not intuitive to use.

If my joke above appeared anything but just a joke inspired by the fact that Dan wanted history of it, and you ;took it off the for sale status, I apologize. Dan's an avid collector. I'm glad the TopCon found some good use.
