Does anyone know how to change the 9 volt batteries in a Schonstedt?

I bought one new, about 5 years ago and the batteries finally gave out. I opened that sucker up and expected to see "c" size and it was 2, 9 volts instead. I tried to take them out and it seemed like I was going to break it to get them out.

TIA

Dugger

I'm assuming they're in the black plastic 'lock-tite' holder. You have to get physical.
Pry up the end of the battery that's not connected while prying the black plastic at the end back a little (yea, I know, it takes three hands...).

It helps to disconnect them by rocking them side to side, while doing all the prying.
