I just finished completing my application for an NCEES record. I am wanting to apply for my license in Kentucky.

Can anyone recommend any study materials for the exam? I know they have some materials listed on the website, but I was looking for any additional information that might be helpful.

Can anyone offer any advice on when the exams are given, and how long it takes to get the results back?

Thanks in advance,
Jimmy

The study material the board provides/recommends is pretty much all you need. It is a very straight forward exam. When I took it the it was at the board's office at a non NCEES weekend. Seems like they offered it when they received enough applicants.

The exam started at 10 AM, finished at 11:30, called the board at 2, found out I passed and I had my license in my possession on the following Wednesday. Kentucky's board is ran the way one wishes all boards could be ran.

I do have some study material in a pdf format I will email you when I get to the office.

The material on the website should be enough. One other area to look up is the Carter Coordinate system. If I remember correctly there is a couple of questions on it.

Yes, there will be a question about the Carter Coordinate System on the test.

Kentucky License

Man... what is with KY???

I had a good client call me a while back and say, "Please tell me you are licensed in Kentucky?!?1? I didn't think you were so I contacted some locals and a 2 acre ALTA/topo on a vacant cleared lot was going for well over 6K almost 7."

Me: "See... I told you that you were getting a deal on everything I have ever done for you.(laughing) but no sir, I am not licensed in Kentucky."

Tommy, I would have told them to call you but I figured you'd be 9K... call me sometime man 😛 .
