ASCE has had a Surveying and Geomatics Division for many years (before that it was the Survey Division, I think).
In 2015 a new institute was formed, the Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute. There are five divisions in the Institute, one of which is the Surveying and Geomatics division.

For the first time since 1992 there will be an ASCE "Survey" conference, the UESI 2018 Surveying and Geomatics Conference, to be held at Cal Poly Pomona in April 2018. Hopefully this will be an annual conference, because since ACSM stopped having conferences a few years ago there really has not been a National Survey conference.
