Perhaps a little advertising in the correct places might attract some of those other professions to at least lurk here and possibly join in just so they could debate certain issues with us.?ÿ Much of what we do is directly tied to what they do and vice versa.?ÿ More head count, more advertising.
I'm no surveyor but I do wonder whether "RPLS" strikes recognition, as a being surveying forum, with international punters.
Likely not. But honestly, I never expected this website to ever reach as far as it has. That's a good thing... so yeah, it's probably a pretty obscure acronym outside the U.S.
We officially changed from LS to PS a year or two ago, but I still go with LS because that is what is on my stamp.
Who was that real estate lady that used to post on the old board??ÿ
I always enjoyed reading her perspective on certain issues; I learned a lot from her...
Wasn't she married to a surveyor, too?
Pat May... She's very cool and on my Facebook friends list. ???? She's actually talked me off the ledge a few times when I got stressed out about some previous nasty users.
I wish Pat would get into posting from time to time.
She would surely have some ideas on how to get some key real estate people to tune in to this board and then spread the word.

I should be able to find my way in.
If you were truly nuts you would invite TDD back.
Is he still alive somewhere?

Good point. I assume he's out there harassing people just as before, just not here.
?ÿ
If I recall correctly, TDD lives and works in Florissant, CO.?ÿ I drive through there getting to my cabin and occasionally have considered trying to contact him.?ÿ Then I remember that I drink too much water.....?ÿ ???? ?????ÿ
SurveyorConnect is fine. It sounds like a dating site for surveyors because that's what it is, in it's own way.?ÿ
When I first joined this site four years ago there were at least a couple of posts regarding RPLS Today's functioning as a dating site. Haven't heard any since then, I guess you all are on Tinder.
Just a thought, but Surveyor Connect might be considered by the gentry as a place to find a surveyor. A subscription for an ad, rather than a Google listing.
BTW, I do not know if I have a Google listing but get a lot of calls to update it. Just not for me.
Downside is that citizens would want to add their complaints. Controlling that might cost too much.
NotSoMuch, I know exactly where Ted is as I had UPSed him some bologna years ago before he found a local source.

Yeah, I have considered SurveyorForums, which is pretty blunt about what it is. But I really didn't want to change to yet another new name... it's enticing for sure though.
I don't know if we have provided a lot of help in your decision making, but we appreciate you checking in with us.?ÿ You have dedicated a tremendous amount of time, worry and funds to make this place continue to exist and we appreciate it greatly.?ÿ Thank you.
Pat??s boyfriend/husband, Robbie, used to work with me. Haven??t heard from her in ages. ?????ÿ
Hell, my link is still Beerleg, so I don't care what you name the site. ?????ÿ
I'm currently investigating a neato login mechanism known as "magic links". For those who don't have their passwords saved in a password manager (like LastPass, which I highly recommend), you can enter your email address and you are emailed a link that automagically logs you in. I use a couple of services that offer the features and it's pretty cool. 🙂
This place would be nothing without the people. I realize many of my digital narcissistic tendencies have been bothersome, and I'm trying to normalize things a bit. Ironically, I think going back to SurveyorConnect (or even going to SurveyorForums) would seem to make sense in the overall scope of things, and I'm hoping it might even be helpful to others in finding us, while also better describing what/who we are. 🙂
But yes, I do appreciate all the feedback and it is very helpful. It occurred to me at some point that the best place to ask for advice and feedback was right here.
Using SurveyorConnect might sound enticing to those in related fields, and that should be a good thing for everyone.
