If I wasn't so busy, I would have invented this.

Inventing that would be easy. Building it would be hard...?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ and fun!

Reminds me of the old plumber story about how tough it was back in the "good old days" for plumbers.?ÿ They would let the plumber assemble the first ten lengths of pipe and then turn on the water.?ÿ He had to add more lengths faster than the water could get there.

Imagine being the poor pick swinger working below water level on both ends of the tunnel.

Sounds like how the rodmen used to get worked in the good old days of surveying.

I would build the top half of the tunnel all the way thru, staying about 10 ft above sea level. Then start in the middle working toward the ends taking out the remainder of the rock leaving a bench on each side for an access road.

@jaro

I was envisioning workers experiencing the same fate as the Egyptian soldiers following Moses and the Israelites across the Red Sea.

Bonus.?ÿ Unlike road tunnels, you don't have to worry if it leaks.

Meanwhile, in the Suez:

If you look closely at the bow of the vessel, there's an excavator having a nibble at the bank.

I hate it when I'm driving my cargo boat and that happens.

I just saw a news flash that states the ship is dislodged and floating.?ÿ Now all they have to do is get it out of there without running aground again....
