I have a friend in Chile who is a professional photographer. He asked me where he can get an inexpensive drone in the US to send to him. Any suggestions? I know some of you are into the hobby aspect, waiting for new rules.
B&H Photo is a reputable place that sells DJI Phantoms.
Phantoms are good but not great. You can get a much better drone at 3D Robotics for about the same price. Look at the Iris+
What?!
GOOGLE doesn't work in Chile?
I just saw an add for a verizon drone. $250
Parrot Bebop is the "upgraded" cousin of the Parrot AR 2.0
Now with 1080P video apparently...
Cost? Just under $500
Hmmm I'm thinking Christmas!!
DJI- order directly from them. I have pre-ordered the Inspire1!
where to get a drone-Verizon or Amazon
Our Verizon Cellular proprietor was pushing THIS when he visited us a month ago.
I'm really tempted to make it my children's Christmas present.

Hello.
I have spent many hours researching and learning and researching more and have come up with a parts list for a very nice mapping quadcopter. According to my flight calculators this puppy should get 30min or more flight time with 2 batteries ran in parallel.
650 quad
It swings 17" carbon fiber propellers, so this is on par with a flying lawnmower as far as safety is concerned.
Also, most of the parts in the spreadsheet have hyperlinks attached to the purchasing screen to make life easier.
It will defiantly take time to build and tune but that experience and knowledge is invaluable. Especially when things go south.
