Last week the ladies my wife and daughters went on a long weekend getaway to where my wife went to high-school. She had several of her high school friends and daughters all meet up. Upon returning home this past Monday the brought daddy a treat. ?ÿTis was a RC Cola and a moon pie. I have waited all week long and finally today I sat down on the couch and had my treat. Itƒ??s a Southern thing for me. How about yƒ??all. ?ÿDo you remember the days where it was the best thing since sliced bread. ?ÿNext to the RC Cola and moon pie it a bottle come and peanuts for me. ?ÿ?ÿ

RC Cola was great.

Putting peanuts in a bottle of Coke is currently trending again.

I was in a store last week that had Moonpies.?ÿ Chocolate, vanilla and banana.?ÿ Of course the chocolate is the only traditional one.?ÿ I've been eating peanuts in a bottle of Coke for well over 60 years.?ÿ Or at least I used to.?ÿ Coke and diabetes don't go well together.

@andy-bruner i still grab a couple bags of those buy one get one peanut pacs and a bottle glass cke on hay days. I mean nothing taste so good on a hot day than ice cold coke with peanuts in the neck lol. Finding moonpies are not as easy to find where I live now. But growing up in Mississippi they were everywhere just like sardines Vienna sausage and potted meat. That was the survival food next to penut butter for me as a kid. And sause and crackers rag bolognee and hot sauce. No wonder I have high cholesterol lol. The RC cola had the moonpie attached in a little cardboard case that had a little marketing theme its a southern thing. The kids thought i would really like that so the wife bought it for me. Now i am full and relaxing. Lol.

Growing up a white kid in multicultural military and educated people always around me, I was deeply effected and affected to the best of the South,?ÿ and learned more about the darker side while I was growing older.?ÿ Some amazing people and Cultures throughout.?ÿ

Country Ham, Red Eye Gravy, Derby Pie, Bourbon Balls from Rebecca Ruth, Ale-8-One, and Buffalo Trace Bourbon.?ÿ I still drink bourbon, just harder to find good bourbon out here, but I manage to keep an appropriate Kentucky Colonel supply in the house.

Poutine, vinegar on everything, cheddar cheese on warm apple pie, gravy was a condiment; never tried lutefisk...
