I have seen some unusual sites while browsing the Earth using Google Earth. I wonder if anyone has found something weird or interesting that might be of interest.

Same thing for Bing.

Was checking a property out for improvements for a resurvey of a property.

When I zoomed in all these ponds and lakes appeared around an area of the lat and long I had recorded on a control point atop a hill with a clear horizon.

Kept zoom closer and all the ponds and lakes disappeared.

Apparently the wrong picture had been added that was thousands of feet higher in altitude at the wrong lat and long.

😉

This pond is a part of the old "state prison farm" near Salem, Oregon.

Turn on your "history" tool bar on google earth and you can see even easier
that this layout was not a mistake!

Just for the heck of it a few years ago, I zoomed in on my house here in Anchorage, and there I was, mowing my yard!

Trees.

First time I tilted the view and started seeing the tree's pop up as part of the 3d buildings layer I was a bit amazed. Im not sure if other major cities have them, but many areas of Portland do.
