I collect maps, cool looking rocks and money; if anybody ever has any of that, that they don't need any more, please send it to me...:-D

North Texas streetcar and interurban line motorman hatbadges. I think I have close to twenty.

Streetcars. I had to start a non-profit organization to help mitigate the expense. We now have 8 streetcars and 2 buses. Ranging from a 12-window 1912 Stone & Webster Standard (only know example in existence) to a 1945 ex-Boston ex-Tandy Subway PCC car heavily modernized in the 1970s. I am also storing my buddy's 1882 Stephenson horse-drawn streetcar in my warehouse. Last known Dallas horsecar in existence.

Small collection of antique surveying gear, partly in thanks to Jeff Opperman.

I forgot: I had quite an old bottle collection at one time. I had a few from the late 1700s. Not sure if I still have any. They probably all got lost between moves back and forth between Mom & Dad. Dad was quite the avid collector of old bottles at one time. As a wee kid in the mid-60s he would take me out with him. Armed with only the knowledge of a newly discovered old dump site and a spade shovel, I swear he could smell them out. I hope he still has his and perhaps the ones I had.

Today I know he has and enormous arrow-head and axe-head collection. I've never found anything cool like he can.

My senior year in high-school we had to make an insect collection in advanced biology. Mine got quite huge with well over 100 critters. After one of the floods in the late 70s, the only left of it is a few pictures my step-Mom took.

Old glass insulators. My old boss got me hooked but I'm not into the big money ones, just the perty cheap ones. I like to work them into projects around the homestead.

"Armed with only the knowledge of a newly discovered old dump site and a spade shovel, I swear he could smell them out." Ofcourse you are talking about an old outhouse, privy, or cistern right...? 😉

"I've never found anything cool like he can." Ya - cause those greedy guys in the 60's got all the good easy stuff. My dad was also big into bottle digging we did some of it when I was younger. One time we dug out an old brick lined well that had been filled up and capped with a concrete slab. We got to the bottom at 25' Hauled all of the dirt home and sifted it for coins. Hundreds of bottles, too bad they were mostly clear non-embossed bottles from the early 1900's. There were some goodies that came out too.

Good honest (not clean) fun. Used to be easy to get permission to dig on private property, now everyone is afraid of their shadow. Sad.

Vintage Audio. Picked up a 1968-ish Sansui 1000A tube receiver, a 1975-ish Marantz 240 power amp with a matching 1975-ish 3300 pre amp just this year. Here are a couple of them and others that I have in rotation right now.

and a few others...

Nice!

I wish I still had my Marantz 125 tuner and Quadradial amp. They were stolen out of our apartment in 1979. Still miss them.

Bummer. The 125 tuner is a pretty good performing tuner. I am kind of looking for one like that to match my newly acquired 3300 pre and 240 amp.

I have a 2015 but don't recall ever plugging it in. Even if it did come on, I don't have speakers or headphones to hookup to it.

I still have my old tube tester and it still works. Not that it would help the old Marantz but it sure did on a bunch of old TVs I got back working about 30 years ago when I had the patience.

I collect arrowheads and cool looking rocks. I had over 500 arrowheads at one time. I always keep my eyes peeled for arrowheads while surveying.

Not me - but my wife

Collects shot glasses. Not he regular shot glasses but the tall ones. We don't use them, she just likes to collect them. She must have about a 100 or so. A whole drawer in the china cabinet. Glass, plastic, metal, terra cotta whatever. From Hard Rock Maui to Senor Frog's in Cancun and anywhere in between.

About the only thing I collect is pocket knives. None of any value and some need to be thrown away. I just can't seem to part with one even if a blade is broken.
