Considering it has prime numbers and no zeros, it certainly is interesting. There must be a multi step approach.
This is assuming that it is correct of course. It certainly wouldn't be the first time that something has been written on the board that is wrong.
The pattern isn't easy to see yet. Dozens of problems that work are readily apparent. I'll probably spend a few lunches on this one...
One of the comments at the NPR link has it right. It's a drill and review tool, not a mechanical multiplication tool.
