Merle, George Jones, Ol Waylon, The Man in Black. We're rapidly losing an entire generation of Country Greats.

There's a meme that's been going around Facebook for some time. It has a picture of George Jones with the words, "If I knew who was going to fill our shoes, I never would have asked".

RIP Merle. The good times are really over for good.

Heard the news heading back to the shop. Fortunately, had a cousin that took me to see him around '94.

I'll drink a little beer that evening and sing a little bit of them...

Watched him a couple years ago at our county fair.

He could still sing really well, but he just didn't have the stamina for a concert (in my opinion).
It was a pretty short show.

Country Music has lost another great.

IMO, the last CMT award show was about 15% country and the rest was some redneck and other music.
