And the preacher said:
"Do you John Doe # 411, take Jane Doe, and her horse, and any future horses she may decide to adopt, to be your lawfully wedded wife, and to provide hay, and oats, and grain, and health care, and Coggins tests, and provide said horses with a clean dry paddock, so long as you can breath, or breath with the assistance of a ventilator, so help you God?"
Have you ever seen this?

> Have you ever seen this?
Do you mean 2 people with the same last name getting married? Must be an Arkansas thing.;-)
OK, sorry, They mighta been cousins!
My Dad married a "horse woman". And, yes, the costs are high. Fortunately she has a well paying job. Now that she is a little older the horses have beaten her up to the point that she can no longer ride.
I have known and met a number of "horse women". They are just like that. Fixated on horses. Chase a man off, way before they would even think of getting rid of 'ole Rex here".

One of my contemporaries is married to one. It's NOT a good deal.
"Shorty and Daisy" are her father's old competition cutting horses. Dad's gone now and she has the wall-o'-trophies and photos as a memorial. She rides them both almost daily.
My buddy has tried to explain to her that Shorty and Daisy would be a lot easier to get to the glue factory while they can still walk. She won't hear of it.
It's a serious matter. He is not looking forward to the morning that she finds one of them with their legs sticking up in the air...
My Grandma.
Very timely. Just wanted to share.
I have a cousin that is a horse woman.
At one time she shared living quarters with her quarter horses.
They had half that was part shed and stalls and her half was one room bunk house decor.
I stayed at her place a few times and was always scolded for bathing in hot water.
My father raised horses and showed them for trade at the end of hounddog alley in Canton, Texas at the same spot my Grandfather had brought dogs, mostly terriers.
A weekend stay there in a makeshift shelter between a horse trailer and the truck was interesting for sure.
Every year Winnsboro, Tx would fill up for the assorted trail rides and nightly rodeo during Autumn Trails.
Wood County has always been full of horse women.
imaudigger, those pictures are awesome and are spot on :good:
Spry ol' gal fer her age, don't ya think?
In the past year, I met the lady and some of her family who originated and run the Louisiane Horse Rescue
Very nice people...matter of fact extraordinary humans.
Yes - I know of two cases. One was engaged to my cousin but decided the horses were more important. He left her.
The other was a wife and mother who left husband, children, house and belongs behind. She took her horse and her horse trailer, said goodbye, and left.
I have known several horse women. Some are more far-gone than others.
One I knew, was writing a friend, and my friend said she was the only person he had ever met, who could write letters, and ONLY talk about her horses, in letters. He was not into horses, so he let her slide.
Horse women.
I like ATV's. They don't eat hay, when you park them.
Nate
Nor will ATVs generate road apples.
😛 😀 🙂 😉
I thought it was common knowledge that horse girls are crazy. Good looking most of the time, but being an equestrian is a sure sign of some serious crazy.
Absolute truism.
And it's a shame.
Another sign of the contrary universe we live in.
